Caramel Apple Cake

A quick and easy recipe that’s very tasty. Serve warm with ice cream. Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups Bisquick 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk or half and half 2 cups sliced peeled cooking apples (about 2 medium apples) 1 Tbsp lemon juice 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 3/4 tsp cinnamon 1 cup boiling water Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together Bisquick, sugar, and milk until blended. Pour into ungreased, 9 x 9 inch square pan. Top with apples; sprinkle with lemon juice. Baked Devil’s Float

Mike’s favorite birthday cake. Oh, my, is this stuff great on top of ice cream! Cake ingredients: 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 cup sugar 4 tsp baking powder 3 Tbsp cocoa 1 cup milk 2 tsp vanilla 4 Tbsp melted butter Sauce ingredients: 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 10 Tbsp cocoa 2 cups hot water Mix ingredients for cake. Broke Salad

Contributed by Matt & Jacki In tight financial times, this salad makes a frequent appearance on our dinner table. And, also, when times are not so tight. So easy. And tasty. And healthy. Ingredients: Lettuce of any kind (we love butter lettuce), ripped into desired size Canned kidney beans or chickpeas, drained/rinsed Feta, crumbled Sunflower seeds Black pepper, to taste Olive oil, drizzled Sea salt, to taste Fresh lemon juice from half a lemon Use amounts to your taste, lightly toss together. Crazy Pancakes

Contributed by Paula via Pam’s recipe cards As Pam put it, “funky, but good.” I haven’t tried this with a gluten-free flour yet, but it’s just crazy enough that it could work. Also, I think you could throw some blueberries or chopped cooked bacon for extra deliciousness. Ingredients: 3/4 stick butter                                                          1 cup flour                             4 eggs                                                             1 cup milk                              1 Tbsp vanilla Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt the butter. Beat all ingredients together. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 22 minutes. When done, sprinkle with powdered sugar if you like. Serve with or without syrup. Power Balls

Or, a tasty snack when you need a little something.
