Apple Custard Pie

Mom Riely’s Recipe- This is a Riely family favorite! Ingredients: 6-8 tart apples, peeled and sliced (i.e., Macintosh) 1 1/2 cup sugar 6 Tbsp flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg Dash of ginger 1/2 cup light cream or half and half Frozen pie crust Place apples in an unbaked pie crust. PILE HIGH! Mix together sugar, flour, cream, salt, and spices. Pour mixture over apples. Sprinkle top with additional cinnamon. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees. Only she just made it one big “cookie” that we all broke pieces off of.
