Banana Cream Bars

Contributed by Anita Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 8 oz sour cream 2 large bananas (mashed) 2 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 2 cups flour Chopped nuts (optional) Mix ingredients in the order listed above. Put in greased and floured 10 x 15 pan. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Done when a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting. Brendan’s Bananas

Brendan pirated and modified (aka simplified) this recipe from “Bananas Foster”, a famous recipe from a restaurant called “Brennan’s” in New Orleans. Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, sliced into rounds 2 Tbsp butter 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup spiced rum Cinnamon Ice cream Melt butter over medium high heat in a frying pan. Place bananas into frying pan and sprinkle with cinnamon (ROUGHLY 1/4-1/2 tsp). Saute bananas for 1-2 minutes flipping once. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook 1 minute.
