The International Sampler Cookbook One of Rae and Angie’s favorites as kids! We spent many an afternoon standing over the “Fry Daddy” covered in powdered sugar. Ingredients: 1 pkg dry yeast 1/4 cup warm water 4 cups sifted flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 Tbsp shortening 1 1/4 cup milk, scalded then cooled (see French Bread recipe for scalding directions) Oil for deep frying Powdered sugar for dusting Dissolve yeast in warm water in cup.
