Well, Lori and I have a little different version of this story…

In the fall of 2012, I received a text from Jeff & Mary Grundahl informing me they had just run into Lori and her kids at Ten Pin Alley and had a nice conversation with her. 

They met Lori through a friend a couple of years or so prior at a Holiday Party. They mentioned Lori told them she was interested in meeting someone. So, they reached out to me and I told them I was sick of the Match.com experience and would be very interested in meeting her. 

After several weeks, Mary connected with their friend and she reached out to Lori and gave her my cell number. [See Lori’s version] It just so happened, at the same time, Jeff & Mary had 2 extra tickets to the Frosty Ball at the Overture Center and wondered if I was interested.  I told them I was and maybe Lori would be interested in being my date. 

Lori called me on my cell for the first time and we seemed to connect instantly.  We set a date at The Tap Room in Middleton for a Thursday evening so we could meet in person. 

While I was traveling to Middleton, Lori sent me a text informing me that she had her granddaughter that day and wouldn’t be able to drop her off until later that evening, I suggested that she bring Jaiden along. So, I went into the bar and waited for the two of them. 

With the description Lori gave me I was able to recognize her as she walked up the sidewalk. We sat down and had a nice conversation… as Jaiden cried during most of the date. We made arrangements for the Frosty Ball and made plans for our second date the next evening in Fitchburg… without Jaiden. We had a great time at the Ball and the rest is history.

(Lori’s Version)     While Lori was driving home from her Brother-in-law, Tom’s, funeral her friend called her wondering if she was interested in going to the Frosty Ball with a friend of the Grundahl’s that “needed a date”… so, you might be able to figure out I like my story a little better.
